Day 1 - Official Unemployment

It was AMAZING and perfect!

No alarm clock.  No jammed bus/train ride to work.  No deadlines.  No office ridiculousness.
Adorable smiles. Hugs from tiny arms. Your name only pronounced as "Weee." (Cant seem to get the "s" or "a!") Playing My Little Ponies for hours, and watch Disney movies during the day.
This must be heaven, or atleast a slice of it.

I dont think Im going to last forever without much to do.  But Ill take it for now.
Any book suggestions?

Oh Happy Day!

Today is the day. Today is my last day at work. I never thought it would come. 6 weeks notice seems like an eternity.

Im so ready to start my new adventures. Or rather to rest and relax for abit before looking for the new adventures.

Beach Already?!

Wow. It got to 83 degrees yesterday, so what better way to spend the afternoon, than at the beach! Finally made it to Cranes Beach. Must say, not sure of all the hype. But nonetheless, so glad to spend sometime in the sun! Yeah for nice weather.

When. . .

When will it get here?
Seriously?
May 1 seems like an eternity.
6 more days in the office before freedom and the summer are before me.
I can almost taste it.

A Few

So. I was really lame about taking pictures while being away. Totally missed Denver, Phoenix, Mesa, New York, and some portions of DC. Arrgghh. But here are a few of what I did remember.

Hanging out on the Mall with Val and the Cherry Blossoms. It was such a nice day.

Downtown Santo Domingo in Zona Colonial, Day 2 therefore already pink.

Day 3 - Jane and I at the beach! Totally worth the effort to get there.

Visit with first college roommate Cheata when I was 17 y/o and her cute family. (Starting to see a pattern!) Meet up with another old roommate Courtney from the Orem days. Spend a lovely weekend with my Cousin Liz. Ate at Bens Chili Bowl with Liz and Boston friend Dave. Its a must try in DC. Liz and I find, with the help of said Dave, an amazing neighborhood in Bethseda with more Cherry Blossoms that I have ever seen in one place.

By Bus, in the POURING rain. Not fun getting to the airport with luggage and dealing with the rain. Sad day.
Apr 6 - Depart New York City, Arrive Santo Domingo, RD
Enter 3rd world country - Meet up with Boston friend Jane, and spent two days at the beach and a day touring the city. Relaxing, warm, and fabulous!
Apr 10 - Depart Santo Domingo, RD, Arrive New York City
Lay at the beach until last possible moment. Then arrive in cold, wet NYC. Meet up with said friend Sam.
Apr 11 - Depart New York City, Arrive Seattle
Hang out with Cousin James. Enjoy, tried to in the cold, wet, grey weather, downtown Seattle.
Work
. . . . And yes tomorrow. Finally.
Apr 14 - Depart Seattle, Arrive Boston
26 Days later. I will finally return to my beloved Boston. Thank you for my new roommates for the rest of the month. . . . Getting Anxious for the upcoming adventures. And so excited for alittle less jet-setting and living out of a suitcase, and ready to enjoy the summer, if it ever comes.

Sharing My Favorites

After spending 15 months traveling for work, many of my co-workers have realized that my favorite restaurant is Pappadeaux. Even though I worked at one for over a year and they sadly discountinued my favorite desert, I still claim it to be my favorite. Just the thought of crab cakes, or calamari, or blackened Mahi Mahi makes me happy.

And I love to introduce others to my favorite things. . . . . This weekend, I got to take my old Boston roommate to Pappadeaux in Denver. She claimed to not like fish, but was open to going as it was my favorite. We got crabcakes appetizer, and then I got Tilapia. . . . Needless to say that, she is now a fan! . . .
